Black Hawks soar to win over Waterville-Winslow

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton-Hodgdon-Southern Aroostook-Katahdin Black Hawks erupted for nine goals Saturday to beat visiting Waterville-Winslow at the Millar Civic Center.

Black Hawk freshman Logan Swallow and sophomore Gavin Vining each scored their first varsity goal as the hosts rolled to the 9-5 win over Waterville-Winslow (3-3) in what was the first win of the season for the Black Hawks (1-3).

Brandon Dunn added three goals and an assist, while Jason Collett, Noah Reynolds, AJ Henderson and Alex Wilde each had one goal. Vining added three assists, while Reynolds had two assists and Collett and Zach Fitzpatrick also had one assist.

Freshman Elijah Matheson was in goal for the Black Hawks for his first varsity action.
