ATV safety

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s ATV safety course is offered to ages 10 and older and covers ATV operation, laws, landowner relations, first aid and other state-mandated subjects.

The class meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center April 28 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Individuals between the ages of 10 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required and those attending should bring a bag lunch. The fee is $5.

MRPA Track and Field

This program, for ages 7-15, introduces youth to the fundamentals of running, throwing and jumping. Grades 1-3 meet Mondays and Wednesdays and grades 4 and up meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning the week of April 30. The meeting time is 3-4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Mother-Son Dance

The wellness center will host the annual event, which will be held May 4 from 7-9 p.m. This year’s theme is “Star Wars.” Photos by Duane are available for a fee. Music is provided by Music X-Press. The fee is $5 per couple.

Kayak trip

Students in grades 5-10 are invited to participate in a kayaking trip on the Aroostook River on May 18. The group will depart the wellness center directly after school and return by 5 p.m. Those participating must wear appropriate clothing to get wet and still stay dry, and also must be comfortable around water should they fall in. Pre-registration is required.
