Woodland man joins MEMIC

WOODLAND and PORTLAND, Maine — To support safer workplaces in Maine, workers’ compensation specialist MEMIC, based in Portland, has announced the appointment of Barrett Parks of Woodland to the position of safety management consultant.

Parks graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology. He has worked as a logger, equipment operator, technical high school instructor and most recently for the State of Maine as an assistant engineer, designing drainage systems.

He is a Maine registered engineer-in-training, certified logging professional and commercial driver.

Originally from Sidney, Parks lives in Woodland with his wife, Deena, and their three children. The couple own and operate Chops Ahoy Farm, raising vegetables and pigs.
