CASTLE HILL, Maine & JAFFREY, New Hampshire – Dorothy E. Dean passed away on April 21, 2018 at a health care facility in Peterborough, NH. She was born on March 14, 1929 in Mapleton, the daughter of George and Clara (Newbegin)Jackson.
Dot worked for many years at Simplot, Potato Service and McCain’s. During her retirement she loved spending time with her family and visiting her friends when she came to Mapleton. She also did crocheting, cooking, flower gardening and picking fiddleheads.
She is predeceased by both of her parents, husband Donald, daughter Donna Tomlinson, brothers Cecil and Herbie, sisters Lillian, Gertrude, Louise and Millie.
She is survived by sons Russell and wife Vicky of Virginia Beach, VA, Terry and wife Melanie of Las Vegas, NV, George and wife Lisa of Castle Hill and daughters Robin and husband David of Jaffrey, NH, Karen and husband Mike Hanestead of Poland, ME. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister Rowena (Jackson) Maynard and her husband Lloyd, a brother George Jackson, Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service held at the Southside Cemetery in West Chapman on June 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a celebration of her life immediately following at the Mapleton Lions Hall.
