Katahdin Trust announces promotions of five retail officers

HOULTON, Maine — During a special 100th anniversary event, Bonnie Foster, executive vice president, retail services at Katahdin Trust, announced the promotions of five employees.

In making the announcement, Foster said, “I wish to sincerely thank these incredible team members for their outstanding service to the bank. Their leadership and dedication to Katahdin Trust, our employees, customers and communities makes each one most worthy of their promotion. I am so proud of each of them and their accomplishments.”

Tori Barber has been promoted to assistant vice president. She started her career with Katahdin Trust 27 years ago as a teller with the opening of the Presque Isle office in 1991. She was then promoted to customer service representative in 1995 and became the branch manager and retail services officer for Mars Hill in 2009. Barber is involved in Mars Hill Rotary Club, Junior Achievement, Get Smart About Credit Day and more. She resides in Presque Isle with her husband, Jim and has one grown daughter, Jordyn.

Sunny Flannery has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. She joined Katahdin Trust in 2011 as the Branch Manager and Retail Services Officer in Hampden. She has 30 years of banking experience having served in a variety of roles including Teller, Branch Supervisor, and Loan Officer. Sunny is involved in a number of community activities such as Hampden Children’s Day, Hampden Business Expo, Teach Children to Save Day, Ronald McDonald House Charities and more. Sunny lives in Searsport with her husband, Kenny.

Debbie Schillinger has been promoted to assistant vice president. She was hired by Katahdin Trust 35 years ago. She began working as a teller at the Island Falls branch in 1983 and was promoted to branch manager and loan officer in 1987. In 2017 she became the manager for both the Island Falls and Oakfield branches. Schillinger serves on the town of Oakfield’s budget committee and provides annual financial literacy training to students attending Southern Aroostook Community School. She lives in Oakfield with her husband Eugene and has two grown daughters, Dawn and Cheryl.

Joe Clukey has been promoted to vice president. He has been with Katahdin Trust since the Presque Isle office opened in 1991 and has held various retail positions including depository supervisor, consumer loan officer, and branch manager. He was promoted to assistant vice president, retail services officer in 2004. Clukey is a high school basketball official, a member of the Presque Isle Congregational Church and is a board member of the Center for Financial Training & Education Alliance. Involved with the Presque Isle Rotary Club, he was recently honored as a recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow Award. Clukey lives in Presque Isle with his wife, Rhonda and has a grown daughter, Janna, and son, Sam.

Peggy Smith has been promoted to vice president. She joined Katahdin Trust in 2000, beginning as the branch manager in Washburn. In 2008 she was promoted to assistant vice president, branch manager and retail services officer for Caribou and now manages both the Caribou and Van Buren branches. She is active in the community with St. Apollonia Dental Clinic, Caribou Growth Council as well as United Way of Aroostook. In 2012 she was the recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow Award through the Rotary Club of Washburn. Smith resides in Caribou.
