My Brother’s Place Campground in Houlton celebrated its 50th anniversary Aug. 3-5. A full house of campers enjoyed three days of fun and entertainment. On Saturday, Aug. 4, a dance featuring the New Society Band of Bangor was held, while on Sunday a family barbecue took place. Art and Sally Nickel purchased the campground from GG and Brannie McIntosh in 1994. There have been numerous changes over the past 50 years to the campground, which draws thousands of visitors for the five month season from around the country, Canada and Europe.
