PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — MMG Insurance recently made its largest donation to date to the United Way of Aroostook. The Annual MMG Charity Golf Tournament and Golf Ball Grab, both of which were held in September, raised a total of $30,396 for the local nonprofit.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the MMG Charity Golf Tournament, which has grown steadily since its inception thanks to generous support from MMG’s employees, business partners and the local community. In total, more than $525,000 has been raised for the United Way of Aroostook through this tournament over the past two and a half decades.

All funds raised through the tournament will be distributed by the United Way to local agencies, directly benefiting the people of Aroostook County.

“MMG is proud to contribute to the important mission of the United Way of Aroostook,” said Larry Shaw, MMG President and CEO. “Our employees, business partners and the local community have come together, embraced and supported this event for the past 25 years and that collaboration is truly the key to continued success.”

He added, “As a company, we are committed to ensuring the future of northern Maine is bright — and this is part of that promise.”

United Way of Aroostook Executive Director Sherry Locke said, “it’s so great to receive this donation from MMG. United Way of Aroostook values its long-standing partnership with MMG Insurance as both of our organizations work to make our community a strong, better place to live, work, and play.”
