Park Service hosts Katahdin Woods and Waters Meeting in Presque Isle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The National Park Service invites members of the public to participate in its management planning process for the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument at upcoming meetings in Presque Isle, Bangor and Portland.

In Aroostook County, a session is planned Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, 6-8 p.m. at the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Campus Center, St. John/Aroostook Room. Meetings are also planned on Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Bangor and Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Portland, times and locations to be announced.

Attendees can share ideas on ways to protect the Monument’s natural resources and support recreational opportunities like hiking, biking and canoeing. Park Service staff will discuss the progress of the management planning process so far.
