Presque Isle High School honors fall athletes

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Athletes from Presque Isle High School were honored Nov. 7 during the school’s fall sports awards night, with soccer players, cheerleaders, cross country runners and golfers all recognized for their participation.

The following is a recap of the awards presented.

Junior varsity girls’ soccer — Coach Krystal Kingsbury presented certificates to: freshmen Emily Bemis, Myah Bragdon, McKenna Brown, Abigail Chase, Kiley Howlett and Sadie LaPointe; sophomore players Macie Bartley, Meg Casavant, Riley Davis, Janelle Doak and managers Jayden McPherson and Valerie St. Peter; and juniors Katelyn Amero, Laura Garrison, Anna Trombley and Liliana Wardwell.

Junior varsity boys’ soccer — Coach Brian Cronin presented certificates to: freshmen players Logan Akeley, Daniel Arce, Cavin Cleaves, Caleb Cray, Quinn DeMerchant, Jordan Higgins, Collin Inman, Xavier McAtee, Ethan Shaw, Ryllan Thibault, Jacob Watt and manager Torrie Casey; sophomores Jude Mosher and Noah Roy; and juniors Gavin Akeley and Gabe Herweh.

Fall cheering — Coach Kelsie Spooner presented first-year letters to freshmen Harper Brown, Hannah Doody, Danica Haskell, Libby Kinney, Anna Mautz, Alexa Perkins, Zoe Plummer and Madison Ward; sophomore Brooke Schneider; juniors Hana Boucher, Taylor Hedrich, Sophia Lambert and Clair Mautz; and seniors Julia Good and Mayce Kinney; second-year letters to sophomores Delaney Alward, Isabella Harvath, Jeanna Knight and Sydney Robichaud; juniors Alexis Moro, Rebekah Poliero and Erica Rosten; and senior Miranda Drost.

Varsity golf — Coach Marc Weeks presented certificates to freshmen Ben Duprey, Chase Guerrette, Matthew Hedrich, Jackson Maynard, Grace McLellan, Wilson Saucier and Sidney Smith; sophomores Ian MacKinnon and Hunter Stubbs; and juniors Richard Goupille and Riley Roderick; first-year letters to seniors Andrew Hewitt, Ian Michaud and Cole Paterson; a third-year letter to senior Libby Boone; and a fourth-year letter to senior Seth Roy.

Varsity boys’ cross country — Coach Evan Graves presented first-year letters to freshmen Ezra Leach and Jaron Leach; sophomore Jacob Devine and senior Lautaro Visuara; a second-year letter to junior Michael Perkins; third-year letters to junior Carter Jackson and senior Owen McQuarrie; and a fourth-year letter to senior Trace Cyr.

Varsity girls’ cross country — Coach Graves presented first-year letters to freshman Madelaine Jackson and sophomore Jasmine LeClair; second-year letters to sophomores Ellie Smith and Amanda Winslow and junior Stephanie Donovan; a third-year letter to senior Alexandra Walsh; and a fourth-year letter to senior Madison Jandreau.

Varsity girls’ soccer — Coach Ralph Michaud and assistant coach Dillon Kingsbury presented certificates to freshman manager Carly Guerrette and sophomore player Meg Casavant; first-year letters to sophomore players Jenna Sargent, Portia Shaw and manager Hattie Bubar, and to juniors Rebecca Rider and Maggie Castonguay; second-year letters to sophomore Rhylee Kinney, junior Allison Himes and senior Emma Kohlbacher; third-year letters to juniors Clara Kohlbacher, Alana Legassie, Paige McHatten and Libby Moreau; and seniors Grace Bemis, Charlotte Carrier, Lydia Miller and Savannah Rodriguez; and fourth-year letters to seniors Elizabeth Collins, Molly Kingsbury, Madison Michaud and Eleanor St. Peter.

Varsity boys’ soccer — Coach Joe Greaves and assistant coach Tim McCue presented certificates to freshmen Daniel Arce, Cavin Cleaves and Xavier McAtee, sophomore Noah Roy and junior Gavin Akeley; first-year letters to freshman Jonah Roy, sophomore Conner Michaud, juniors Sam Beaulieu, Connor Albertson and Jacob Bonville; and seniors Will Bridges and Mason Young; second-year letters to sophomores Colby Carlisle and Gage LeTourneau; juniors Ethan Cassidy and Connor DeMerchant; and seniors Drew Cameron, Torey Levesque and Jacob Sjoberg; a third-year letter to senior Zechariah Morse; and fourth-year letters to seniors Kyler Caron, Jason Dumais and Jonah Hudson.

Special awards also were presented during the evening. Sweatshirts were given to those accumulating a combination of six varsity letters during a career — Grace Bemis (soccer, skiing and track and field), Molly Kingsbury (soccer and basketball), Elizabeth Collins (soccer and baseball manager), Madison Michaud (soccer and basketball), Lydia MIller (soccer and softball), Zechariah Morse (soccer, skiing and track and field) and Connor DeMerchant (soccer, hockey and baseball).

Jackets are awarded to those lettering in a sport all four years. Recipients were Elizabeth Collins (soccer), Molly Kingsbury (soccer), Madison Michaud (soccer), Eleanor St. Peter (soccer), Kyler Caron (soccer), Jason Dumais (soccer), Jonah Hudson (soccer), Seth Roy (golf), Madison Jandreau (cross country) and Trace Cyr (cross country).
