Caribou queens donate to Jefferson Cary Cancer Center

When Caribou queens are crowned, they commit to serving the community. As part of this commitment, they chose to donate blankets with words of encouragement to those undergoing cancer treatments at the Jefferson Cary Cancer Center. Presenting and accepting the recent donation are queens and cancer center staff, from left, back row: Kaitlyn Umphrey, RN, OCN; Kearstin Coty, Teen Miss Caribou; Makenzie Conroy, Miss Caribou; Naomi Cote, Junior Miss Caribou; Valerie Perry, RN; and Jenn Plant, RN, OCN, JCCC and Specialty Clinics manager. Front row: Lauren Lister, Pre Teen Miss Caribou; and Vivian Bell, Little Miss Caribou. For the past three years, the proceeds of the Miss Caribou and Little Miss Caribou pageants, sponsored by the Caribou Lister-Knowlton Auxiliary Post 9389, go to the center to purchase of equipment such as rocker recliners for use by those undergoing cancer treatments.
