Oakfield Seniors gather (week of March 27, 2019)

We had another great meeting for the Oakfield Senior Citizens, starting with a delicious potluck luncheon. The tables were decorated with the St. Patrick’s Day theme. The business meeting started with the 50/50 drawing being won by George Barrow. The Lord’s Prayer and the Flag Salute were the next item on the agenda. All reports were read and accepted. March birthdays were recognized.

Christine McPherson from RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) was our guest speaker. She shared lots of information about programs being offered in the area such as Matter of Balance, Bone Builders, Healthy Living for Me, Meals on Wheels and the need for volunteers to help with these programs. If you would like more information about these contact McPherson at the Agency on Aging in Presque Isle.

Our next meeting will be on April 3, at the Smokie Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfield.  Come and join us for good food and fun. The luncheon is at 11:30 a.m., followed by business and entertainment.

Attending were: Arlene Friel, Alberta McDonald, Don and Charlotte Marley, Marie Gillotti, Bernice Campbell, Juanita Russell, Iona Nadeau, Kathleen Boutilier, Jeanne Clements, George Barrow, Wannetta Townsend, Judy Williams, Earl and Lottie Doughty, Christine McPherson.
