PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center is featuring the work of local artist Peggy Hemberg Bosse during the month of June. The opening reception for her show, The Road Less Traveled, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 7, during Presque Isle’s First Friday Downtown Art Walk.
“Welcome to my world of color,” is how artist Peggy Hemberg Bosse describes her art show, The Road Less Traveled.
“Nature makes me happy and that’s usually where my paintings take me,” she said. “I feel so fortunate to see the world the way I see it—Every detail, every color in a beautiful dance.”
Bosse started painting years ago, but working and raising her family took priority and is something she says she wouldn’t change for anything.
“Now I feel the time is right to go on a different journey and pursue what I love so much,” she said. “I get so involved in the process of a painting. I usually don’t have a plan when I start on a blank canvas, and have no idea what the finished piece will look like. That is truly part of the excitement for me.”
Bosse’s artwork is drawing attention locally and at venues in southern Maine.
“We’ve been looking forward to Peggy’s show for months now,” said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director. “Peggy’s work is absolutely stunning and I believe her use of color makes her work vibrant and unique.”
The opening reception for The Road Less Traveled is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
