Credit union celebrates longevity of membership

MADAWASKA, Maine — NorState Federal Credit Union, celebrating its 78th anniversary of serving people in Aroostook and northern Penobscot counties, invited members to this year’s annual membership meeting and dinner on May 23.

The session took place at the Madawaska High School cafeteria. Members had a chance to review year-end financials, as well as learn about the perks of membership, specifically the newly released program, LuvMyCU Perks, which launched on April 1.

The credit union’s newly designed relationship program takes into consideration the longevity of membership along with total amount of business on their account, which is an accumulation of total savings or borrowing amounts and the use of products and services available to credit union members.

LuvMyCU Perks has four tiers of relationship, from Bronze to Platinum, and is designed to reward those who are actively doing their financial business with the credit union. Included are better rates on savings and loans based on their years of financial relationship with the credit union.

CEO Susan G. Whitehead addressed more than 180 members and 70 employees at the annual gathering about the fiscal well-being of their credit union and the new loyalty program.

Members enjoyed a baked stuffed chicken meal with all the fixings, prepared by Madawaska High School food services, and lucky door prize recipients walked away with over $1,200 of giveaways and loyalty coffee mugs colored bronze, silver, gold or platinum based on their status level, as well as information on how to level up in order to enjoy more perks of their program.
