Caribou High School Class of 1959 holds 60th reunion

CARIBOU, Maine — Members of Caribou High School’s Class of 1959 gathered recently in Caribou for their 60th class reunion.

The festive weekend began with a “meet and greet” at the Caribou Country Club on Friday evening, July 12, with over 45 people attending.  Light hors d’oeuvres and punch were served. Gary Monteith made ice cream floats for all.

A class breakfast was put on by the Gray Memorial United Methodist Men’s Club on Saturday morning. Forty classmates, spouses, and guests attended. Following breakfast, the group decorated the conference room at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center for the reunion.   

Richard Winslow was master of ceremonies for the evening program.  The invocation was given by Melvin Sullivan. All enjoyed the reunion meal.  Thirty-nine classmates attended the event along with their spouses, significant others or guests.

The 55 names of deceased class members were read by Linda Gunnerson Callison, followed by a moment of silence.  Deceased classmates are Carline Anderson, Judith Anderson Rideout, Paridon Anderson, Patricia Anderson Quist, Almond Babin, Raymond Barnes Jr., Jean Blackstone Nelson, Glen Bragdon, Daniel Brewer, William Cameron, Marshal Carlstrom, Jean Caveney Scholl, Galen Chapman, Garnet Chapman, Gilbert Conroy, Athalie Cyr Williams, Harvey Cyr, Linda Devoe, Carolyn Duncan Ferris, Joan Fogg Endicott, Edna Gagnon Watson, Elizabeth Gagnon Stickles, Wesley Gardner, Judith Hallowell, Edward Higgins, Ward Holmes, Brenda Jacobs Grimes, Norris Jacques, Brendon Jalbert, Janet Jepson Burtchell, Alaine Johnson Bernier, Gloria Johnson Ringdahl, Colleen Kelley Nichols, Edward Kidney, Frances Kidney Duran, Rita Lausier Chetelat, H. Tickets were drawn and door prizes were awarded to the winning ticket holders.
