The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Greg Lafrancois, CEO of Northern Light AR Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, held a question-and-answer session about the hospital’s upcoming discontinuation of 911 ambulance service.
While the hospital will still do critical care and transfers to other facilities, Mars Hill officials are still looking into what their options are for 911 ambulance services..
The guest speakers were Tammy DeLong and Jean Wiggins from the Senior Planning Center in Presque Isle.
They talked about Medicare planning and screening for other benefits for which individuals might be eligible. This is a free service to everyone. Open enrollment will take place from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
