Mars Hill holds municipal election

MARS HILL, Maine — More than 60 people voted in the Mars Hill municipal election, electing positions on the Mars Hill Town Council, school board and utility district on Monday, March 16.

Voters unanimously elected Donna McClung to a three-year seat on the Mars Hill Town Council. She was also elected to the positions of town assessor and overseer of the poor.

Jason Woollard was elected to a three-year term on the SAD 42 Board of Directors, with 100 percent of the vote. Brian Cummings was elected to a spot with 80 percent of the vote; his closest competition was Harry Orser, who received 8 percent.

Evan Lento was elected to a three-year term as a trustee for the Mars Hill Utility District, receiving 98 percent of the vote. Loren King received one write-in vote.

Jill Lunney was elected to a three-year term on the Walter T.A. Hansen Library Board of Trustees with 98 percent of the vote. Angel King received one write-in vote.
