LIMESTONE, Maine — Students of the Loring Job Corps military prep program visited the Maine Statehouse in Augusta in February and received recognition by the Senate.
The group presented colors at the opening of the Senate and participated in events in the Hall of Fags. They received a standing ovation.
While at the statehouse, the students received a warm welcome and a standing ovation, and were able to see firsthand some of the processes in both the Senate and House of Representatives.
State Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, visited with the group and presented each of them with an official Maine Senate pin for their commitment to northern Maine.
