STACYVILLE, Maine — Shelby Lewis of Oakfield, a senior at Katahdin Middle-High School has been selected to receive the 2020 Principal’s Award from Principal Marie Robinson.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Throughout her years at Katahdin High School, Shelby has distinguished herself in the classroom, as well as being a member of student council, National Honor Society, Drama Club, Art Club, Upward Bound, HOBY Maine as well as HOBY WLC and sports,” Robinson said.

Award winners and their principals were supposed to attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering in early April, but that event was cancelled due to the coronavirus.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
