Maine State Police Troop F Report, June 15-21, 2020

HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to a number of calls for service during the period of June 15-21, including the following.

Monday, June 15

MARS HILL — Individual called claiming that their son who is on 24/7 house arrest, left the house and had not returned. Trooper Rider and Tr. Levesque responded and located and arrested the individual. While searching the individual, drug paraphernalia was found as well as a .357 pellet gun. The individual was transported to the Aroostook County Jail, where he did not make bail. 

CROSS LAKE TWP. — Tr. Curtin was working traffic enforcement in Cross Lake Twp. when he stopped a vehicle for a vehicle defect and found the operator was under suspension. The 39-year-old Presque Isle man was charged with operating after suspension. 

Tuesday, June 16

LITTLETON — Tr. Sylvia was working traffic enforcement in Littleton when he stopped a vehicle for speeding. One of the two occupants was on bail and found to be in violation of his curfew. The 34-year-old Littleton man was arrested and taken to the Aroostook County Jail. 

Wednesday, June 17

WOODLAND — Tr. Martin was conducting traffic enforcement on Rt. 161 in the town of Woodland when he observed a vehicle defect. Tr. Martin conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Tr. Martin asked for the operator’s license and he advised that his license was suspended. Tr. Martin verified the suspension and learned that the operator’s license was revoked. Tr. Martin issued the man a summons for operating after revocation. 

PATTEN — Tr. Saucier began investigating a theft in Patten. The victim reported irrigation equipment taken from their farm fields. The investigation is ongoing. 

Thursday, June 18

STACYVILLE — Tr. Saucier began investigating a theft in Stacyville. The victim reported cash and other items missing from his residence. The investigation is ongoing. 

HOULTON — Sgt. Haines assisted with firearms qualification and training for the Maine Forest Service in Houlton and Lee. 

Saturday, June 20

ST. FRANCIS — Tr. Desrosier was conducting traffic enforcement in the town of St. Francis when he observed a vehicle traveling south on Rt. 161 at a high rate of speed. Tr. Desrosier locked the vehicle’s speed at 90 mph in a posted 50-mph zone. Tr. Desrosier conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Tr. Desrosier observed clues that the operator was possibly impaired by alcohol. Tr. Desrosier conducted standardized field sobriety tests and arrested the man. 

Sunday, June 21

MONTICELLO and BRIDGEWATER — Tr. Mahon was working traffic enforcement in Monticello when he clocked a 34-year-old Kentucky woman traveling 67 in a 30-mph zone. A short time later Sgt. Haines clocked a 33-year-old Caribou man for traveling 86 in a 55-mph zone in Bridgewater. Both operators were summonsed for criminal speed.
