Author to sign book at Maysville Museum

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The community is invited to meet a local author and learn a bit about Presque Isle’s history from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Maysville Museum.

Evan Zarkadas, a graduate of the University of Maine at Presque isle,  will be signing copies of his book, “Lost Maysville,” at Presque Isle Historical Society’s Maysville Museum, located at 165 Caribou Road, Presque Isle on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.  

Copies will be available for purchase.  The event is free to attend.  

Zarkadas grew up in Greece, moved to the United States with his family, and attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle where he became fascinated with local history.  He is now attending the University of Maine at Orono working on his Master’s degree.  

The Presque Isle Historical Society, an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit corporation, was founded in 1963.  Its mission is to study, promote and preserve the history, culture, heritage and artifacts of Presque isle for present and future generations.
