Tai Chi sessions head to Mantle Lake Park

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Presque Isle Recreation Department officials have announced that their Tai Chi group, geared toward seniors, will move to Mantle Lake Park for as long as the weather allows.

The free, drop-in sessions take place Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Masks are not required but are welcome, and proper physical distancing will be observed. In case of rain, the group will move to the Riverside Park Pavilion.

No prior experience with Tai Chi is necessary, and there is no special clothing or equipment required.

Tai Chi comes from an ancient Chinese tradition involving slow, focused movements. Its benefits include improved balance, flexibility and fitness, including stress reduction.
