PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A fire on McBurnie Road in Presque Isle on Tuesday burned down a mobile home and displaced two people, authorities said Wednesday.
Seventeen firefighters fought the flames at 65 McBurnie Road, which occurred on Tuesday night. The dwelling was a single-family mobile home that is a total loss, Presque Isle Deputy Fire Chief Nathan Allen said Wednesday.
Allen said that “smoking materials” caused the fire, though he did not elaborate further.
Presque Isle Fire received assistance from members of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill Fire Department and Caribou Fire Department. Presque Isle Police assisted with traffic control.
