PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Electrical utility crews will perform planned maintenance early Friday morning in parts of Presque Isle’s former base area.

According to Versant Power, work will start on the electrical system in Presque Isle  at 5 a.m. on Sept. 25. Affected customers will include those on Micmac Drive, Midway Drive, Twilight Drive, Beacon Road, Sunrise Lane, Morningside Drive, Sunset Loop, Summit Drive, Northern Road and part of Edgemont Drive.

Versant spokeswoman Judy Long said customers may experience service interruptions during that time as workers make repairs to improve reliability and prevent future outages.

The company reminded motorists to slow down or move over and change lanes, when possible, if approaching utility crews working on roadways, and urged the public never to touch a downed power line or a tree in contact with a downed line.
