Hodgdon edges Washburn in Saturday softball matchup

HODGDON, Maine — Although the weather was cold and windy, Hodgdon’s bats were hot as they defeated visiting Washburn 15-5 in the two teams’ first matchup of the season on Saturday, May 8. 

Hodgdon’s offense was led by Aleyah Matheson, who had three doubles and two runs batted in, as well as scoring an additional three runs. Other contributors to the Hawks’ scoring effort were Allie Winship, who had a triple and single and scored three runs, and Meghan Peters, who had two singles and scored two runs.

Pitcher Marissa Dow led the way for the Hawks, striking out 15 and limiting the Beavers to five runs scored.
