From the Bunkers – Week of June 1, 2021

Over the long weekend the course was busy with many golfers enjoying a round or two of golf. We have seen many familiar faces, but more and more new faces are showing up. Please remember if you have not been a member at the golf course for over two years you are eligible for half-price membership.

 With June here, hopefully we will get more consistently warm weather, and with that comes prime grass growing. Our greens are looking great and with some sun and water they will be even better very soon.

 The annual Ladies Association’s Opening Banquet took place on Tuesday, May 25, at the Lakeside Restaurant. There was a great turnout propelled by an exciting increase in membership.  The ladies have scheduled morning play at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays, as well as the evening play at 5 p.m. If anyone has questions about the Ladies Association or are interested in joining, please call the golf course at 532-2662. 

 Monday, June 7, is the start of the Men’s Twilight League. We have a full roster again this year, which will, without a doubt, lead to some great matches. Match schedules will be released by the Friday prior to the match. For match schedules check at the clubhouse or .  Good luck to everyone.

 Golf For Life is having another great year, we have over 30 people taking part in this totally free introduction to golf. We look forward to seeing all of the participants on the course, and taking part in a few scrambles yet to be announced.

Junior golf will be starting June 14 at the driving range, registration is at 8 a.m. and classes will go from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

 This Saturday, June 5, is our Memorial Tournament. This is a 4-person, 18-hole scramble.  Registration is at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon and social hour and awards at 5 p.m.  Sign-up is $25 per person, which includes a mulligan and pins. Members and guests are welcome. Signup deadline is Thursday and spots are filling up fast, so call the clubhouse now to sign up at 532-2662. All proceeds from this tournament go towards the beautification of the course. Grab three friends and sign up today. Don’t have a team? Call the clubhouse and let them know. We’ll do our best to get you on a team.

 Other upcoming tournaments are the Mucho Moolah 2 Person Scramble June 19, and the Alumni Scramble July 3. Spots are filling up fast for these super popular events, so sign up today with the clubhouse by calling 532-2662!

 The Lakeside Restaurant will be open for lunch for the season starting June 16. Dinner schedule is currently Wednesday-Saturday and Sunday brunch. Lunch is 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and dinner is 4-8 p.m. and Sunday brunch 10:30-2:30 p.m.
