Woodie Wheaton Land Trust hosts inaugural Boat Parade on East Grand Lake

FOREST CITY, Maine — The Woodie Wheaton Land recently hosted a Boat Parade on East Grand Lake.

The parade made its way down the Arm portion of the lake, just beyond Treasure Island and back up along the shoreline of Sandy Beach Road. The small, but mighty parade included boats decorated as Sponge Bob, a Giant Loon, a deserted raft with a Sail, and a few more boats that joined the lineup.

Also in keeping with a WWLT tradition there were two Grand Laker Canoes boating close to the shore to hand out candy and goodies. Top honors of best decorated boat went to The Loon Pontoon, which was driven by Bob Parker and his guest Jane Johnson, both of Forest City.

The parade was well received by all and there were many inquiries if this would be an annual event. For more information on WWLT, visit  www.woodiewheaton.org.
