Mapleton Daze auction begins Monday

The Mapleton Daze Committee is busy preparing for the third annual online silent auction.  They are very grateful for the donations received so far. The committee is especially thankful for the donated items they received from their vendor at the recent Mapleton Daze Fall Craft and Vendor Fair.

Additional items for the auction were accepted until the end of October.  The committee thanks the many readers of this column who donated items. Auction proceeds will benefit next year’s Mapleton Daze festivities.

For individuals interested in bidding in the auction, all the action items are pictured on the “Mapleton Daze 3rd Annual On-Line Silent Auction” Facebook page.  Bidding will officially open on Monday, Nov. 15, at 8 a.m., and will close on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m.  The highest bids at that time will be declared the winners.

The committee recommends bidders check the bids frequently to see the status.  Instructions for bidding can be found on the Facebook page.

Readers should feel free to email and/or message Lynnelle Foster at lynnelle.foster@maine.edu or Laurie at laurie.boucher@maine.edu regarding any questions regarding the auction.

Lions Club President Rick Fowler and Darcy McBay lead in the carving of the turkeys at last year’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The annual dinner will be served again this year by the Mapleton Lions Club on Thanksgiving. Everyone is welcome to drive-thru and receive a take-out turkey dinner with all the fixings.

More information will come soon, as the Mapleton Lions Club’s new annual traditional Community Thanksgiving Dinner is on tap again this year.

The Lions Club and others will be helping Bob and Darcy McBay of the Mapleton Diner serve, package and hand out the dinners at this drive-thru event.

The whole community is invited to receive the very traditional and delicious turkey dinner with all the fixings.  Donations will be accepted.
