Presque Isle wants to market summer events statewide

PRESQUE ISLE,  Maine — Is your organization holding an event this summer in Presque Isle? If so, The Summer in The Star City Committee wants to help promote your event.

Submissions will be listed on The Summer in the Star City website which will be showcased in local news publications as well as others around the state, including The Star-Herald, local news website TheCounty.ME, Bangor Daily News and Bangor Metro magazine.

“The City has put on summer events for several years and was looking for better visibility throughout the state to draw more visitors,” Kim Smith, committee chairwoman, said.

“With the recent success of Star City Spirit of Christmas Celebration, the city, through its non-profit arm, Presque Isle Community Development Association, applied for and received a grant from the Maine Office of Tourism. This will allow us to promote events held in the city this summer in downstate markets.”

In order to submit your event, please include the name of the event, date, time, cost of admission if any, location, description, who to contact for more information, and the organization putting the event on. All events must be submitted by April 15.  Event information should be sent to ksmith@presqueisleme.us

The Summer in the Star City website will be launched in early May. For more information, contact Smith at the email listed above or at (207) 760-2722.
