Grace O’Neal of Limestone and Jared Tapley of Houlton are the newest members of the Maine Community Foundation’s (MaineCF) Aroostook County Committee.

MaineCF’s county committees are made up of community members who live or work in the county and serve as local ambassadors for the foundation, sharing their knowledge and providing on-the-ground local leadership for the foundation.

The Aroostook County Committee’s volunteer county advisors review grant proposals for MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program and recommend grant awards from the Aroostook County Fund. Community Building supports a broad range of projects and organizations across the state, including arts, education, environment, economic development, and human services.

O’Neal is a programmer analyst with MMG Insurance and serves on boards of the Limestone School Committee and Loring Development Authority and is a member of the Limestone Rotary Club. Tapley is the executive director of Southern Aroostook Development Corp.

Other committee members include Frank McElwain of Caribou; Jane Torres of Houlton; Carol Bell of Presque Isle; Rob Moran of Houlton; Bryan Thompson of Presque Isle; and Jane Towle of Presque Isle.

In 2022, the Aroostook County Fund awarded nine grants totaling $82,475, with three additional proposals totaling $5,440 funded by donors with advised funds at MaineCF.

The Maine Community Foundation brings people and resources together to build a better Maine through strategic giving, community leadership, personalized service, local expertise and strong investments. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.mainecf.org.
