Presque Isle Elks to host 16th Elks Family Christmas Dinner

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — On Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25, the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954, will resume hosting its Elks Family Christmas Dinner at the Elks Lodge located at 508 Main Street. Speaking on behalf of the Elks, Exalted Ruler Patricia Lovely  stated, “I am pleased to be able to invite everyone in this area, who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day, to join the Elks family for a wonderful Christmas Dinner on that  day, all free of charge.”

Christmas Dinner will be a five-course, sit-down meal, which will feature a choice of roast turkey or country-baked ham, as well as County mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a medley of vegetables. Guests will be able to choose from a multitude of desserts, including a variety of berry and cream pies.  

Dana Dickinson, who together with his late wife Mary Dickinson, originated the Elks Family Christmas Dinner, will again serve as chair for this event. He will  assemble a large group of enthusiastic volunteers to cook and serve a sit-down Christmas Dinner to 200 or more expected guests beginning at 11 a.m. 

Musical entertainment will be supplied by the Soggy-Bottom Boyz, which include James “Sheldon” Wright, Leland Clark, Agis Clark, Wendell Hudson, Dale Hudson, Yvette Stephens and Eric Norton.

For anyone who is unable to travel to the Presque Isle Elks Lodge on their own, transportation can be arranged by calling 207-764-0985. 

Service of the starter courses for the meal will begin at 11:30 a.m.
