This coming Saturday two fundraising meals will be available in West Chapman. Folks will be able to start the day with breakfast at the Chapman Ridge Runner Snowmobile Clubhouse, and then you will be able to end the day with supper at the West Chapman Advent Christian Church.
The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club has been having an exciting few weeks. To quote the Club’s Facebook page, “Santa may have been a few days late, but today (December 28, 2022) he dropped off our new Pisten Bully!,” which is the Club’s new groomer and drag. Then on January 16, she took maiden voyage and the club members were excited. Unfortunately with the recent warm weather, there has not been enough freezing snow to adequately groom all trails for use. They did ask that snowmobilers not go out and start riding the trails until trails are opened.
Here she is, in all her glory, the Chapman Ridge Runner Snowmobile new Pisten Bully Groomer arrived December 28. Don’t rush out just yet, so far the club is only packing trails. None are groomed but will be soon. just wanted to give you a peek. Trail updates will be given as soon as possible, so ride safe.

Now the challenge beside the lack of snow is the Club’s need to raise funds for the benefit of the new groomer and drag. To help with these financial needs, the Club will be holding a breakfast on Saturday, January 28 from 7 a.m. to noon at the clubhouse at 94 Town Hall Road. The menu will be French toast, bacon or sausage, eggs, home fries, toast, coffee, juice. Funds will benefit the new groomer and drag. Everyone is invited to attend by either sledding in or driving out to the clubhouse. They hope to have a large crowd attend this delicious breakfast to cover the costs of the new groomer and drag.
Now that the middle of the winter has been reached, a classic Saturday night bean dinner is definitely in order, so the West Chapman Advent Christian Church is having a fund-raiser supper this Saturday, January 28 starting at 5 p.m. This supper will be a Maine classic Saturday night baked bean supper with red hotdogs, assorted salads, assorted breads and dessert. Church members are excited to host this supper as it will be their first sit down supper since COVID began. Diners can either have it as a sit down or take out meal.

The church members invite all who have previously attended fundraising suppers to come and see what the funds raised have accomplished at the church. Also they invite diners to come and enjoy the fun and fellowship that happens when folks all get together and share a meal..

Next Tuesday January 31 is the deadline for dog license renewal. The town office for the towns of Mapleton, Chapman, and Castle Hill reminds all residents who own a dog that the State of Maine requires that all dogs be licensed by January 31 of each year. These licenses are to be issued in the municipality where the dog is kept. The fees are $6 per spayed or neutered dog and $11 per dog capable of reproducing. The town office urges all residents to get licenses before January 31, because there is a late fee of $25 added to the license fee for all dogs registered after January 31.
