HOULTON, Maine – The Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians has welcomed a long-time pediatrician to the staff of its health care center.

Dr. Rosalinda Maraya joined the HBMI’s Health and Wellness Center in early April and has begun seeing children one day a week at the center.

Dr. Maraya is a licensed medical doctor and board certified pediatrician for 45 years — six years in New York for residency and additional two years in Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship. Her husband and two children moved to Houlton in June 1982. Since then she practiced pediatric medicine for 39 years, retiring from Houlton Pediatrics in October 2022.

“Taking care of pediatric patients (birth to 18 years of age) has always been challenging and fun,” Dr. Maraya said. “I really missed seeing the children. An opportunity came up recently for me to practice Pediatric Medicine at the Houlton Band of Maliseets’ Health and Wellness Center. I am very excited and very thankful for the opportunity given to me.”
Dr. Maraya is seeing pediatric patients (children only) on Thursdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please call the clinic at 532-4229 if you would like to schedule an appointment for your children.
