St. John Valley Weather for Jan. 24-30, 2024

3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, Jan. 24-Friday, Jan. 26 

Mostly clear skies this morning give way to increasing clouds this afternoon with cloudy skies and some snow Wednesday night as an area of low pressure tracks along a frontal boundary over southern New England. Snow ends early Thursday with mostly cloudy skies expected for Fort Kent and vicinity Thursday with partly cloudy skies across the region Thursday night. 

Another area of low pressure approaches early Friday with snow overspreading northern Maine as the morning progresses. This system looks to bring 3-5 inches of fresh snowfall to the Valley. Snow continues Friday night before tapering off early Saturday.

Today: Becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a 10 percent chance for snow. High around 19. South wind 8-9 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy with a 30 percent chance for snow after midnight with less than 1-inch snowfall expected.. Low near 19 early then rising to around 25 mph overnight. South wind 4-8 mph. 

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 10 percent chance for snow in the morning. High around 34. Northwest wind 6-9 mph shifting to the north 4-6 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance for snow after midnight. Low near 14. East wind 0-5 mph. 

Friday: Cloudy with an 80 percent chance for snow. Around 3-5 inches snowfall expected. High around 26. East wind 4-6 mph.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy with a 60 percent chance for snow tapering to snow showers overnight. Low near 15. North wind 0-7 mph.

4- to 7-day Outlook: Saturday, Jan. 27-Tuesday, Jan. 30

Clouds diminish Saturday with high pressure building across the region for several days. Partly sunny skies are expected Saturday with mostly cloudy skies Saturday night followed on Sunday with partly sunny skies during the day and mostly cloudy skies Sunday night. Mostly sunny skies overspread the region Monday and Tuesday with partly cloudy skies Monday night.
