The County Spelling Bee was held Feb. 8 at the University of Maine at Fort Kent with 13 spellers representing seven schools. Lydia Han of Greater Houlton Christian Academy was the winner after round 10, when opponent Claire Thorsnes of Fort Kent misspelled “Albuquerque. Han correctly spelled “Trinidiadian” and “brick.” Pictured are Han (left) and J. Travis Lynn, spelling bee coordinator for Aroostook County. Han will represent Aroostook County at the State Spelling Bee on March 23.
