It’s ‘All in the Timing’ for these Broadway teens

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Broadway Kids in The County is presenting the first play in the new Broadway Teens series, which features six local young adults as they perform four scenes from David Ives’ “ALL IN THE TIMING” on June 7-8 with both shows at 7 p.m. at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Lilliana Ainsworth, Mia Brewer, Sadie Cairns, Troy Celik, Danica Haskell and Marleia Stevens will perform the scenes “Sure Thing”, “Universal Language”, “A Philadelphia” and “Philip Glass Wants a Loaf of Bread” – and they will each sing solos and group songs to round out the evening. The whole evening is about time and the different ways it can factor in a life.

This is going to be an unforgettable evening of theatre filled with witty and slap-stick type scenes and topped off with beautiful ballads that really showcase everyone’s strengths!

With the Broadway Teens series, the group is able to showcase older actors that also often make up our creative team of our camps. What’s fun about this series is the campers get to see their fierce instructors in action.

Later on this summer, Broadway Kids in The County will be offering two different summer camps. The week of June 23-29 the group will be offering “Mary Poppins Junior”, which will be directed by Danica, choreographed by Lily and musically directed by Sadie. Then the weeks of July 28 to August 10, the group will offer “Beauty and the Beast Junior”, which will be directed and choreographed by Lily and musically directed by Sadie. Both camps will end with three performances at the Limestone Community School for the public.

They are almost full for the “Mary Poppins Junior” camp, but still have plenty of spaces left in the Beauty and the Beast Junior camp, but the slots will fill fast. They are open to all students in Aroostook County (and beyond) going into grades 1-8. “Beauty and the Beast Junior” will also include rising freshmen and sophomores!

Broadway Kids in The County Theatre Company is a year round children’s theatre company. Majority of the shows we produce feature actors ages 5-13 but we also offer shows that feature older actors as well. The group strives to highlight each actor we work with to showcase their strengths. This is where passion blossoms!
