Houlton’s Class of 1964 holds 60th reunion

Members of Houlton High School’s Class of 1964 gathered on Aug. 17 to celebrate their 60th reunion.

After a meal at Jarvey’s, Class President George Niles welcomed classmates and recognized past reunion committee members. He thanked committee members Sharon Gartley/Lowrey, Sylvia Grant/Forte, Patty Wolhaupter/Randall, Barbara Rogerson/Fairfield, Byrna Lynn Hannigan/Miller and Ted Leavitt for their efforts to make the 60th reunion a success.  

Thirty-two class members attended. 

Roanne Seeley brought a quilt made with squares of Vicki Saunders/Tower’s clothing pieces, the center square having her picture printed on it.  Houlton Alumni created a remembrance plaque for class members to view.  

Dennis Callnan is the latest deceased classmate, passing on July 25, 2024. Barbara Newton passed away on May 18, 2024.  

The Class of 64 now has 82 living and 42 deceased members.
