Houlton Rotary Club announces 69th annual auction with record-breaking donations

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Rotary Club is thrilled to announce its 69th Annual Radio, TV, and Internet Auction, scheduled for November 25, 26 and 27, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. each evening. This year’s auction boasts an unprecedented $93,000 worth of donations from local businesses and citizens, reflecting the community’s remarkable generosity.

The auction will be broadcast live on the Houlton Rotary Club’s website and Facebook page, as well as on WHOU 100.1 FM, Pioneer Channel 100, and Spectrum Channel 1302, ensuring broad accessibility for all participants.

Proceeds from the auction will support several significant community projects, including:

Southern Aroostook Minors Hockey Association: Funding the construction of an outdoor street hockey facility to promote year-round youth engagement in hockey.

Houlton Humane Society: Establishing an indoor canine exercise and greeting area to enhance the well-being of shelter animals.

The Putnam House: Providing a defibrillator to ensure the safety and health of its members.

“These projects were selected for their profound impact on our community,” said Annette Beaton, president of the Houlton Rotary Club. “Supporting youth sports, animal welfare and senior health aligns with our mission to serve diverse community needs.”

Josh McLaughlin, auction chair and current vice president, expressed gratitude for the community’s support, “The generosity we’ve witnessed this year is truly inspiring. Our annual auction is a cornerstone event that enables us to fund initiatives making a tangible difference in Houlton.”
