Presque Isle Rotary Club unrolls new fundraising effort, seeks applications for Proceed Partners

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Rotary Club of Presque Isle is pleased to announce its new fundraising effort for 2025, which features three key activities under the umbrella of a Rotary Raises campaign: a basket raffle in August, an online auction in the fall and a dessert auction in November.

“We have a rich auction tradition of more than 75 years in our club. Over the past decade, we have needed to adjust the format at times, adapting our traditional auction both to overcome logistical challenges and to find fun new ways to draw community support for our community partners and projects,” says Karen Gonya, co-chair of this year’s Rotary Raises fundraising committee. “This year, we are taking the most popular parts of our past auctions and raffles and combining them into these three mini-fundraising events.”

One of these annual traditions is selecting community projects and organizations to become proceed partners who will benefit from the dollars raised, and that process is now underway.

“The online application process is now open, and we encourage local non-profits to apply. Preference will be given to projects that benefit local youth, promote arts or cultural activity in our area, serve the broader community, as well as to projects that would be able to complete their project with the funds received.  However, these are not requirements, and we encourage all to apply who want to be considered,” explains Gonya.

The deadline to apply to be a Rotary Proceed Partner for 2025 is February 14. All applications will be reviewed by the committee, with a final recommendation brought before the club for a vote. Organizations/projects that are selected will be awarded up to $3,000 to support their community service efforts.
