Katahdin Trust announces promotion of Nelson to senior vice president

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Katahdin Trust, a local community bank serving northern Maine and the greater Bangor and Portland regions, is pleased to announce that James Nelson has been promoted to senior vice president, commercial services officer and team leader.

Nelson joined Katahdin Trust in 2023 as vice president, commercial services officer and was named team leader in February 2025. In his new role, he will continue to be responsible for commercial lending, growing and developing business loan relationships throughout northern and central Maine and overseeing a team of commercial bankers in Aroostook County.

Nelson is a University of Maine graduate, holding a master of business administration and bachelor’s degree in financial economics. In addition he served as a sergeant in the Maine Army National Guard from 2014-20.
