To the editor:
We now have the report of two whistleblowers who have proof that Immigration and Customs Enforcement training tells its agents that they can break into any house they want to without a warrant, contrary to the 4th Amendment of the Constitution. ICE needs to be abolished, full stop.
There is a lot of talk in Congress that ICE needs to be reformed and their agents just need more training. I admit that ICE is a bunch of poorly trained goons, but here’s the problem as I see it. The problem with badly trained Nazis wasn’t that they were badly trained, it’s that they were Nazis. Nazis were abolished. ICE is Trump’s [equivalent of] Nazi brownshirts, pure and simple. They are waging war on innocent Americans and are in no way fulfilling Trump’s lies that they are going against the worst of the worst.
One of them shot and killed an innocent woman four times and then called the dead woman an (expletive). Do you call that crime fighting? I don’t. I call it murder. And what comes out of the Trump regime after each incident of atrocious ICE abuse is lies, lies and more lies.
Now these ICE goons are here in Maine harassing our immigrant communities and our citizens. Their actions are unconstitutional, illegal, immoral and sinful. There is no other way to look at it. I want ICE abolished and I am pretty sure I am in the majority on this. Remember the words our founding fathers put on a famous flag, “Don’t Tread On Me.” Well, I’m feeling treaded on.
