To the editor:
Seeing my tax bill and [the insert telling me] how my dollars were spent, I began to wonder.
Am I 14% safer living in Presque Isle than last year? Are our highways 14% better than last year? Are our students 14% smarter than last year? Is our city14% better than last year? Is our recreation and culture 14% better than last year? Is “other” 14% better than last year? Am I 14% better than last year or 14% poorer?
It appears in seven years we will be paying 100% more in taxes than this year.
I pray my Social Security doesn’t run out.
