CARIBOU, Maine — Aroostook County has once again been recognized for its commitment to safe driving, earning a Maine County Commissioners Association Risk Pool Safe Driving Award for the second consecutive year.
The 2025 Safe Driving Awards were announced during the 2026 Convention of Maine Counties, hosted by Oxford County. Aroostook County earned second place statewide for its safe driving practices during 2025 and received a $4,000 award.
This marks the second year in a row that Aroostook County has received a Safe Driving Award, having also been recognized for its performance in 2024.
“This recognition really belongs to our county employees who are behind the wheel every day serving the people of Aroostook County,” County Administrator Justin Tibbetts said. “Winning this award two years in a row shows the continued commitment our employees have made to safety and responsible driving. We appreciate their efforts and want to congratulate everyone who helped the County earn this recognition.
Aroostook County was also one of only three counties recognized for receiving Safe Driving Awards in consecutive years.
The County thanks all employees and departments whose commitment to safe driving helped make this back-to-back achievement possible.
