To the editor:
We now have a trade deficit with a country that we sent thousands of our young people to fight and die for. The reason, they were told, was to free the country from communist rule. I’m talking about Vietnam.
I have no intention of elaborating on the economic pros and cons of trade with Vietnam. I would just like to know how the politicians that supported this trade agreement can justify it to the families who lost loved ones in that war. I look at it as what I hope will be the final slap in the face to all who died fighting for what they thought was a noble cause.
