King, Daniel J., 55, EASTON, in Boston, MA, April 30, 2010. Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
EASTON – Daniel Joseph King, 55, passed away April 30, 2010, in Boston, MA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dan was born March 20, 1955, in Presque Isle, to Clement and Helen (Trask) King. Dan was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and a dear friend to many. First and foremost, he was a dairy farmer. The true love of his life was his farm and his animals. Dan loved to fish and enjoyed sharing the pond and feeding the fish with who ever wanted to “jump in the buggy”. Dan graduated from Easton High School in 1973, and NMVTI in 1975. He married Leonna Ladner in 1976. Dan joined his father operating Circle K Dairy Farm in Easton and continued to do so until his death.
Dan was predeceased by his father, and is survived by his mother, and his wife, Leonna (Ladner) King, both of Easton; two sons and their wives, Andrew J. and Nicole of Charleston, and Joshua D. and Julie of Presque Isle; three grandsons, Blake, Gabriel and Daniel; four sisters and their husbands, Kathy and Tom Peary of Presque Isle, Karen and Bob Hilt of Chapman, Elizabeth and Doug Babbitt of Groveland, MA, and Elaine and Bruce White of Easton; a brother and his wife, C.J. and Jodi King of Easton; a sister-in-law and her husband, Loris and Michael Allen of Easton; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Dan leaves a void in the lives of many friends and one special family friend with whom he shared his love of cows and laughter, Simon Alexander.
Dan was proud to be a Christian and loved reading (and being read to from) the Bible. He drew his strength from that source. He attended the Easton Wesleyan Church.
Friends called 7-9 p.m. Monday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at the Easton Wesleyan Church with Pastor Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, the family suggests donations be made to:
