CARIBOU, Maine — Internal medicine physician Alvin D. Wycoco, MD, recently joined the hospitalist team at Cary Medical Center/Pines Health Services.

“Medical care for patients with progressively complex health conditions is challenging, especially for those patients who require hospitalization,” said Lisa Caron, chief operating officer at Pines.

“Dr. Wycoco is a familiar face to Pines and Cary as he has had several years of work experience with our teams as a hospitalist locum,” Caron said. “We are thrilled to have him part of our hospitalist team.”

Wycoco joins Cary/Pines hospitalists Dr. Claude Boma, Dr. Irene Djuanda, Dr. John Bouchard, Dr. Sadia Munawar, Dr. Jeffery Hoeksma and Family Nurse Practitioner Josee Romann.

Wycoco completed his residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and attained his MD at Angeles University Foundation in Angeles City, Philippines.

He will work closely with referring physicians and hospital staff.

“His outstanding clinical skills, superior knowledge of medicine and exceptional leadership skills will be a welcomed addition to the Cary and Pines teams,” said Caron.

In addition to enjoying the beautiful sunny weather during the summer months here in Aroostook County, Wycoco said his favorite part of the area is, hands down, the friendly people.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies and tinkering with electronics.
