Company aids marathon with bronze sponsorship

CARIBOU, Maine — The City of Caribou Events and Marketing Department has announced that MMG Insurance has signed on as a sponsor for the third annual Caribou Marathon.

“As proven by our 2017 event, this Boston Marathon qualifier is a tremendous asset to Aroostook County,” said Christina Kane-Gibson, Caribou Events and Marketing official. “With MMG Insurance, this City of Caribou event has created regional pride, encouraged healthy living and promoted financial growth for The County’s tourism industry.”

Kane-Gibson said the 2017 race had nearly 400 athletes, 200 volunteers and immeasurable community support.

“The positive feedback was also astounding, gaining the sponsors and the city statewide recognition among athletes and destination tourism professionals,” she said.

She expects the 2018 event will once again draw runners from all over the United States and beyond.

“MMG is proud to continue its support of the Caribou Marathon — an event which showcases the spirit and beauty of this region, while also helping to create a healthier community,” said Larry Shaw, president and CEO of MMG Insurance.
