LOVLEY, Vaughn True, 90, MINNESOTA & MAPLETON, at Minnesota, February 14, 2012. At Vaughn’s request, there will be no formal memorial service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

American Flag ColorMINNESOTA – Vaughn True Lovley of Clarks Grove, MN, age 90, retired farmer, salesman, machinist, and WWII Army Air Corps veteran, passed away February 14. Born in Mapleton, ME, July 12, 1921, he was the son of Claude and Velma Lovley.

    He is survived by sister, Maxine (Vaughn) Smith, Presque Isle; children, MaryAnne Lovley and Forrest (Linda) Lovley, both of Jordan, MN, Kate (Jim) Peterson of Faribault, MN, Susan (Kevin) Lovley of Minnetonka; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; and his two kitty companions, Connie and Bella.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; brother, Donald Lovley; sister, Glenice McCormick; and his parents.

    Vaughn lived life to the fullest while trapping, fishing, and hunting in Maine, Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Minnesota. He was a nationally recognized competition rifle marksman and was proud of the many friendships and achievements resulting from this. Vaughn was also an avid hiker, camper, private pilot, and gardener. He appreciated his kind and helpful neighbors in Clarks Grove and always looked forward to seeing his friends at the Congregational Church in Hollandale each Sunday. He successfully lived his life on his own terms and was rarely known to back down from a challenge. He always had just one more story to tell of his life’s adventures.
