Vote down $15 million bond

To the editor:

The bond being presented to MSAD 1 is another example of taxpayer wasted funds.  Currently Presque Isle High School is at half capacity and under the current resizing plan would remain that way.  MSAD 1 should consolidate the middle school with the high school, close Pine Street elementary and move those students along with Zipple students to the current middle school. The administration offices and Pre K would occupy Zipple and savings from closing Pine Street could be used to either pay down the bond that currently won’t be paid off until 2024 from closing Cunningham Middle School or upgrades to Zipple.  I see no reason to go deeper into debt when there is plenty of space for our current population of children.
