The monthly First Friday luncheon held at the Mapleton Methodist Church will begin their 14th year on Friday, Feb. 1, at 11:30 a.m.
The meal will be special, as it is the winter luncheon. The chefs have promised a warm, filling luncheon to help everyone forget about the cold weather.
While the food is always delicious, the real joy is sharing a meal with long-time friends as well as making new friends, sharing family updates, stories and memories. Remember there is no charge for the lunch, but donations will be accepted.
Senior meeting
Snow and bad weather have cancelled two meetings in the last month of the Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill Seniors. Their next scheduled meeting will be a regular potluck luncheon at the Mapleton Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 4, at 11:30 a.m.
Everyone over age 55 is invited to attend and join the group. It is a traditional potluck lunch, so bring something and enjoy.
Chapman Ridge Runners
On Feb. 6, Wednesday, the Chapman Ridge Runners will hold their monthly directors’ meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse in West Chapman on Town Hall Road.
On Saturday, Feb. 9, there will an appetizer and dessert night (bring one). While enjoying the treats, there will be games. Members should bring a favorite card or board game.
Dog Registration
Tomorrow is the last day to register and obtain dog tags for 2019. Visit the Town Office and beat the $25 late fee, which takes effect Feb. 1.
