Berry earns Principal’s Award

ASHLAND, Maine — Ashland District School senior Graham Berry of Ashland was recently selected to receive the 2020 Principal’s Award, according to a news release from Principal Joel Hall. 

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship

“Graham has truly made his mark at Ashland District School in terms of his school service, scholarship and leadership. Graham is an outstanding academic student with high goals and expectations for himself,” Hall said. “Graham has always excelled while taking the most difficult classes ADS has to offer. Graham has participated in many other co-curricular clubs and athletics in order to stay a well-rounded student.”

Berry has served as the state president of the FFA for the past two years. He has been highly successful in a variety of FFA competitions at the state and national levels. He has also participated on the varsity golf and varsity baseball teams. 

He also participates in Jazz Band, instrumental band and show choir. 

Berry is the son of Clarence and Julie Berry of Ashland. He plans to attend the State University of New York at Delhi, majoring in business and professional golf management.  

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association that represents Maine’s school administrators.
